CUSTOMER COMPLETED AFGHANS OF SOME OF MY AFGHAN PATTERNS
Page 1 of 1

A few years ago I sent some pictures of my designs to Leisure Arts and Oxmoor House publishing to see if they would publish some of my afghan designs. They returned my designs, both companies stating that they did not wish to publish them as "Women only wanted '1, 2, 3 EASY!'"

Therefore, I have never sought to publish any of them.

I built my own website and now have over 1000 men and women around the world crocheting afghans from my patterns. Many of the customers finish an afghan within a week using the methods set forth on this site.

I am placing photographs below some of my customers have sent me of their work.

In some cases they chose to modify the colors to suit their own tastes, which I do recommend, as I do not know the color schemes into which the afghans will be used.

My three main submitters are Fran (Chicago), Bill (South Bend, IN)and Bob (Murfreesboro, TN).

Fran has been working with my designs for some time now and has completed many afghans, of which I will post a few. She had crocheted previously, but took the time to learn the special techniques I sent her with her first patterns.

Bill, on the other hand, saw me in a show in October, 2000, in Bell Buckle, TN. He bought my 'How To Crochet Left Handed' book. He started teaching himself to crochet near the end of November. He has already completed many afghans. Bill is also now learning to design his own afghan patterns. He has already taught himself to add names and numbers to my patterns for his own use.

Further, all the afghans shown here are crocheted and completed without knotting the yarns when changing skeins or colors and all the afghans are reversible. As a matter of fact, some of the pictures sent me are of the actual 'back' side of the afghan. Even they couldn't tell the difference. Now, that is perfect work! I am very proud of them.

I have also been able to interest many, many new men and women in the art and fun of crocheting.
